Hamra History
As chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Wendy's of Missouri, Sam Hamra, along with his wife June Hamra, own and operate 26 Wendy’s restaurants in Missouri. A Missouri Bootheel native, Hamra practices law in Springfield, Missouri, and also serves as the governmental relations attorney for several Missouri communities, including the cities of Branson and St. Robert.
Hamra is a member of the Board of Directors of Cox Health in Springfield, Missouri and the Board of Directors of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. He is also a member of the Smith-Glynn-Callaway Medical Foundation; Missouri Sports Hall of Fame and the Harry S. Truman Library Institute in Independence, Missouri. During his career he has served as an officer in the U.S. Army Field Artillery Battalion and Second Armored Cavalry Regiment, was elected as a delegate to three Democratic National Conventions, and served five years as State Treasurer of the Missouri Democratic Party.
He was
inducted into the Kappa Sigma National Fraternity (Beta Gamma Chapter)
Hall of Fame, received the Missourian Award from
the American Heart Association and was named Missouri’s Outstanding
Young Man of the Year in 1967.
Hamra and
his wife, June, MA ’59, have four children:
Sam III; Karen; Michael, JD ’94; and Jacqueline, JD ’96.
